Getting to Know Me
Serge Dumont : Author, Independent Publisher and Psychosociologist

My name is Serge Dumont,
I am a personal development author, psychosociologist, and independent publisher based in Rimouski, in the beautiful Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec, Canada.
In 2025, I founded Atypique Éditions, an independent Canadian publishing house specializing in personal development, inner transformation, and self-therapy books.
My intention is simple: to offer clear, humane, and respectful works that honor each person’s rhythm, supporting periods of transition, questioning, and inner rebuilding.
A Path Between Professional Training and Lived Experience
My background in psychosociology led me to explore mechanisms of adaptation, relational dynamics, and the subtle forces that influence our choices.
Over the years, I have also trained in NLP, EFT, EMDR, mindfulness, and various complementary approaches related to personal growth and guidance.
Beyond certifications, however, it is my own life journey that has shaped my writing.
Like many people, I have experienced periods of questioning, loss of direction, and inner reconstruction.
I do not share abstract theories.
I share tools that have been lived, tested, integrated, and transformed through experience.
My work stands at the intersection of psychosociology, contemporary personal development practices, and a deeply lived inner exploration carried out with rigor and humility.
My Vision of a Book
For me, a book is not simply a source of information.
It is a living space...
A place to slow down...
To reflect...
To feel...
To experiment...
Each book published through Atypique Éditions is designed as:
▪ A structured companion
▪ A discreet source of support
▪ A tool for personal exploration
Within its pages, you will find organized reflections, practical exercises, and invitations to understand yourself differently.
My books aim to support emotional autonomy, inner clarity, and the ability to move forward more freely — through language that is accessible, thoughtful, and respectful.
An Independent and Intentional Publishing House
Atypique Éditions is an author-led publishing house.
I publish my own works in order to preserve the coherence of the message, my editorial freedom, and a direct relationship with readers.
I am not seeking to multiply publications, but to publish with integrity and precision.
I am convinced that a book that truly accompanies someone must be carried by an embodied voice... one that takes responsibility for what it shares.

Writing at a Human Pace
I believe inner transformation cannot be forced.
It prepares itself...
It matures...
It integrates...
My writing is intentionally clear, warm, and direct.
Sometimes introspective.
Sometimes gently touched with humor... because even life’s deepest questions deserve a bit of lightness.
At the heart of every page live simple values:
▪ Respect for what you feel
▪ The dignity of each person’s journey
▪ The quiet strength of human connection
My Vision
In the long term, I hope Atypique Éditions will become a recognized reference in Quebec and Canada in the field of personal development and self-therapy books.
Not a distant institution, but a reliable, coherent, and deeply human voice.
I believe meaningful transformation always begins within.
And if my books can accompany even part of that journey, then this project will have fulfilled its purpose.
And Now…
If you would like to understand more deeply the spirit that guides each of my books, I invite you to explore my Editorial Philosophy page, where I explain the foundations of my approach and the vision that supports Atypique Éditions.
If you prefer to enter directly into the experience, you may explore my personal development and self-therapy books, designed as companions for inner transformation.
I also share additional thoughts in my blog articles.
Each book offers a distinct path, structured, respectful, and accessible... at your own pace.
«Because sometimes, the best way to truly know me…
is simply to open a book.»
